Amazon Music Ending Twitch Artist Profiles Integration

Amazon Music for Artists has made the decision to no longer allow the integration of Twitch channels to artist profiles. Here’s the announcement shared today from Amazon Music for Artists.
Hello.
We’re making the difficult decision to sunset the distribution of livestreams from artist Twitch channels to fans on Amazon Music. Beginning the last week of March, artists will no longer be able to connect their Twitch channels to the Amazon Music app with Amazon Music for Artists. Amazon Music will still feature its original livestream productions within the app.
Since launching this feature in 2020, we’ve learned that artists gain the most from livestreaming when fans can interact directly on their Twitch channel page, versus an embedded experience without the ability to interact. We’re proud to have been able to provide artists greater visibility for their livestreams, especially during a difficult time when live music was pushed online. While Amazon Music is retiring this feature, your ability to livestream and monetize on Twitch remains intact. We encourage you to continue engaging with your fans directly on your Twitch channel, where community interaction is most impactful.

I don’t make a habit of writing about features being removed or sunsetted but this integration has been mentioned in my books and workshops since it launched in 2020 and I feel it is important to keep you updated!
While this news is likely to have mixed responses from artists, it is worth noting that the experience for fans on Twitch doesn’t appear to be changing. There’s also plenty of other features available through Amazon Music for Artists that have been highlighted recently such as Hype Deck.
